Charles Keene of Caerleon 1787.

This is the last will and testament of me Charles Keene of the Town of Caerleon in the County of Monmouth, Gentleman, made this twenty third day of August 1787. I will that all my just debts be paid and to be decently intered at the discretion of my executor here in after named at the parish church of Lanvrechva. I give and devise unto my great grandson Roger Keene all that my messuage farm and lands in the parish of Lanvrechva Upper in the tenure of Henry Serjeant and also all that my messuage farm and lands in the parish of Lanvrechva Lower End in the tenure of Thomas Loyd to have and to hold the said premises unto my said great grandson Roger Keene his heirs and assigns for ever. I give and devise unto my grand daughter Cecil Keene all that my messuage wherein I now dwell in with the stable brewhouse garden and appurtenances thereunto belonging to hold unto the said Cecil Keene her heirs and assigns for ever. I also give her the sum of three? hundred pounds and all the goods and furniture in the said house and outhouses, I desire my executor herein after named may call in the sum of one hundred pounds out of the money I have at interest and lay out the same on such security as he thinks proper and pay the same unto my great grand daughter Amy Rogers when she arrives to the age of twenty one years and if she dies without issue I give the said one hundred pounds to Cecil all the rest of my personal estate after paying my funeral expences legacies, costs of proving my will and other trouble costs and expences that my executor may be at or be put unto I give to my great grand son William? Keene but if he dies without issue I give my said personal estate unto his brother Roger Keene and I do hereby nominate and appoint Henry Keene of Caerleon in the County of Monmouth Gentleman sole executor of this my will. In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal the day and year first above written. Charles Keene.
