Anne Keene. Penhow, Mon. WILL Proved 15 Jan 1847 LL/ 1847/96

 

This is the last will and testament of me Anne Keene of Penhow Castle in the Parish of Penhow in the County of Monmouth as follows viz: -

I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth the wife of Stephen Leonard of the parish of Redwick the sum of fifty pounds. to be paid to her by my executors hereinafter named in twelve months after my decease.

I give and bequeath unto my two daughter Ann and Mary Keene. all my plate. linen and china that I may die possessed of to them their heirs and assigns for ever.

I give and bequeath unto my two daughters namely Ann and Mary Keene and unto my son Benjamin Keene all and singular my farming stock, implements of husbandry, household furniture, money, securities for money. and all and every other thing of whatsoever kind or nature the same may be or wheresoever the same may be that I may die possessed of after the payment of all my just debts, funeral expences and charges of proving this my will unto them, their heirs and assigns for ever, to be divided equally share and sbare alike between them. And I do hereby nominate and appoint my two sons, Roger Keene of the Parish of Whitson, and William Keene of the Parish of Goldclift to be whole and sole executors to carry this my last will and testament into execution, and I do hereby revoke all former will or wills by me heretofore made, and do ordain this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand by my mark and seal this eighteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two. Anne Keene. her mark.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the testatrix Ann Keene as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses therto:- Robt Jas Smith, Rector of Penhow~ Francis Evans. 15th day of January 1847 Roger Keene and William Keene the lawful sons of the deceased and joint executors in this will named was duly sworn as such and that the goods, chattels and credits of the deceased are under the value of one thousand pounds before me. Richd Prichard. surrogate.

Diocese of Llandaff, In the Consistory Court. In the goods of Mrs Anne Keene deceased. Appeared personally Roger Keene of the Parish of Whitson in the County of Monmouth, yeoman and William Keene of the Parish of Goldcliff in the same County, yeoman, the joint executors named in the last will and testament of the said Anne Keene formerly of Ponhow Castle but late of the Parish of Lanvaches in the said County of Monmouth widow deceased, who died on the fifteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty seven and made oath that the estate and effects of the said deceased, for and in respect of which a probate of the said will is to be granted, exclusive of what the said deceased may have been possessed of or entitled to as a Trustee for any other person or persons, and not beneficially, and without deducting any thing on account of the debts due and owing from the said deceased. are under the value of one thousand pounds, to the best of these deponent’s knowledge, information and belief. And they lastly made oath that the said deceased did not die possessed of any leasehold estate or estates for years, either absolute or deterinable, on a life or lives to the best of these deponents knowledge, information and belief.
