William Keen of Goldcliff 1744/5.

This is the last will & testament of Wm Keen of the pish of Goldclift in the County of Monmouth & Diocese of Landaffe.

Imprimis I assign my soul unto the hands of Allmighty God hoping the merits of my dear Saviour to find pardon & omission of my sins, and my body I give to the grave to be decently buried in Christian buriall at the discretion of my executrix here after named.

Item I give to Ann Morgan, Mary James widows, Morgan Lewis, David Griffith, David Hughs, Wm Martin and Lewis Thomas, and Mary Edward widow ten shillings apiece.

Item I give to my menservants Thomas David & Wm Martin, and my maidservants Catherine Lodovick & Elizabeth Morgan ten shillings apiece.

Item I give and bequeath to my well belov’d wife Alice Keen all the rest of my goods & chattells whatsoever all my houshold goods, ready mony & mony att interest & all my personal whatsoever, and I doe here by nominate & appoint my said dear and well belov’d wife Alice Keen whole & sole executrix of this my last will & testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this twelvth day of November in the year of our Lord God 1737. The mark of Wm Keen.
