In the name of God Amen, the seaven and twentieth day of May in the second yeare of the reigne of our Soveraigne Lady Anne, Queene of England &c Anno Dni 1703. I William Jones of the Towne of Uske in the County of Monmouth, gent, being sick in body but of good and perfect memory doe make and ordaine this my last will and testamt in writeinge in manner and forme following and first being penitent & sorry from the bottom of my hearte for all my sins past & humbly desireing forgiveness for the same I comitt my soule unto almighty God my saviour & redeemer and by the merritts of Jesus Christ I trust and believe assuredly to be saved and that my soule att the genall day of resurreccon shall rise againe and my body to be buried in Christian buriall att the discretion of my executor hereafter named.
Imprimis I give and bequeath towards the repairaccon of the Cathedrall Church of Landaffe the sume of six pence. Item I give and bequeath unto my maide servant Mary Eusse the sume of five shillings to be paid her within six months next after my decease. Item I give and bequeath all my goods, cattell and chattells household stuffe and implements of household stuffe unto my deare and well beloved wife Sara and my sonn George whome I doe hereby nominate, appointe and make joynt executors of this my last will and testament. And I doe hereby alsoe appointe my kinsman Wm Blethyn of Dynham in the sd County Esqr & George Richmond of the sd Towne of Uske in the sd County, gent, and Robert Jones of the same in the sd County, gent, to be guardians and overseers of my said sonn George untill he attains the age of one and twenty yeares whome I doe hereby desire to be aiding and assisting to my sd sonn in the recovery of his right and interest of & into severall lands and tenemts in the said County of Monmouth or elswhere revoaking & dissannulling all former will and wills by me heretofore made. In wittnesse whereof I have hereunto putt my hand and seale the day, moneth and yeare first above written. Wm Jones
