In the name of God Amen, I Henry Jones of Crossonen in the parish of Skenfreth & County of Monmouth, farmer, being of safe & sound disposeing mind & memory do make and ordain this to be my last will & testament in manner & form following viz. First I recommend my soul to God that gave it & my body to the earth to be buried at the discression of my executress hereafter mentioned.
Item I give unto my son William Jones one fether bed & bedsteed, one pair of my best sheets, one rugg, the best cettle and the best pott & the best cow that I have in my possession at the time of my death & likewise one pair of andiarns, one spitt, one dripin pan, two hogsheads containing 170 gallons. Item all the rest of my affects that remains after paying of my depts & funaral expences I give & bequeath to my loveing wife Ann Jones. And I do appoint her to be my sole exectrex of this my last will & testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 20th day of August 1768. The mark of the said Henry Jones. HJ.

This will was proved at Abergavenny on the first day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy before the Reverend Nathaniel Wells, Clerk, Master of Arts, the Chancellors Surrogate by Anne Jones, widow, the relict and sole executrix in this will named who was first on the holy Evangelists personally sworn well and faithfully to execute the same, to exhibit an inventory &c and to render a just account of her administration thereof when thereunto lawfully required
