In the name of God Amen I John
Powell of the parish of Penyclawdd in the County of Monmouth, farmer, being
of a perfect mind, memory and understanding, do make this my last Will and
Testament in manner following. I give
and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary Powell all that I am possessed of
during her widowhood – but if she marries, I give and bequeath unto my two
daughters Anne and Mary Powell the sum of fifty pounds each to be
immediately paid them out of my property.
If my above said wife Mary Powell continues a widow I give
and bequeath unto her all that I am possessed of during the term of her natural
life and after her decease to be equally divided between my two daughters Anne
and Mary Powell share and share alike.
And I also constitute and appoint my above sd wife Mary Powell
the whole and sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby
utterly revoke, disallow and disannul all former bequests, Wills and legacies
by me heretofore by anywise left or made, declaring, ratifying and confirming
this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this
twenty fourth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred

1805. Mary Powell, widow, the
relict & sole executrix was sworn to the truth thereof and to the faithful
performance of the same and that the goods chattles & credits do not amount
in value to the sum of two hundred pounds.
