In the name of God Amen I Thomas John of the parish of Cwmcarvan, farmer, being in sound mind and memory do make & ordain this my last will & testament this twenty first day of July one thousand eight hundred & thirty six. I give and bequeath unto my wife Dorothy all and singular my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever to be by her enjoyed for and during the term of her natural life. And from and after her decease I give and bequeath all and singular my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my son Thomas his heirs & assigns for ever. And it is my will and wish that my wife Dorothy aforesaid shall not make any unnecessary waste of any of the said estate, and also that my son Thomas aforesaid shall render all assistance that conveniently he can unto his mother my wife aforesaid during her lifetime.
