In the name of God Amen I Griffith John of the pishe of Woulsnewton in the County of Monmoth and Dioces of Landaffe being sicke of body but of good and pfect memorie laud and prayse be given unto Almighty God doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge (that is to saie) first I comend my soule into the hands of God my maker, hopinge assuredly through the merits of Jesus Christ my saviour to be made partaken of life everlasting and I comend my body to the earth whence it is made & to be buried in Christian burial. Imprimis I give and bequeath towards the Cathedrall Church of Landaffe xiid. Item I give and bequeath unto John Morgan p’son of Woulsnewton for my forgotten tyth? ---?. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Griffith the true and ---? sume of fyfty pownds of current english money to be payed unto the foresaid Mary Griffith when shee shall accomplishe the full age of fifteene years, and if it happen that my nowe wife Lissill? Phe? And her mother doth live untill my foresaid daughter Mary doth accomplishe the full age of fyfteene yeares that then my will is that my said daughter Mary doe & followe her mother good advissment? and councell and allsoe my will & desire is that shee my foresaid daughter shall continue & staye wth her mother untill shee her said mother shall find --? --? a good place in marriadge for the beter --? --? my said daughter Mary Griffith. Item my will is if it happen that the said Mary my daughter doe die before shee shall accomplishe to the age of fifteene yeares that then my will is, I doe give & bequeath the foresaid sume of fyfty pownds unto my --? wife Lissood Philip & after her decease to her three children --? --? by my wife Lissidd? Phe --? her --? --? as shee shall think good & fitt. Item I give and bequeath towards the reparacons of the church of Woulsnewton five shillings. Item I give and bequeath towards to the reparinge & amending of the lane leadinge from the bridge of Porth vach & towards the bridge called pontyffillps. Item I give and bequeath unto the poor wthin the pishe of Woulsnewton five shillings And of this my last will and testamt I doe nominate and ordaine my said wife Lissodd Phellipp to be sole executrix and doe give and bequeath unto my said wife Lissodd Phe the residue of all & singular my goods catles & chatles --? --? moveable & unmoveable And allsoe doe uterly revoke and adnull? all and every --? former wills & testamts legacies, bequestes exer by me in any wise before this tyme nominated made willed & bequeathed. In wittnes whereof I the foresaid Griffith John have herunto putt my hand and seale the third daie of June? in the raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles by the grace of God Kinge of england --?
