In the name of God Amen Wenllian Hellier the relict of John Hellier of Newport in the County of Monmowth and diocess of Landaff late deceased widdow beinge sicke in body but of good and p'ect memory laude & praise be unto Almighty God doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge.
Imprimis I comend my soule to Almighty God my maker and and to Jesus Christ my Saviour and redeemer and my body to be buryed in the church or church yard of St Woollos & as for my psonall estate Item I give towards the Cathedrall Church of Landaff xiid. Item I give and devise one ticke feather bedd and ticke feather bowlster and one feather pillow and Holland case and the french bed steede and one covlitt with curtains and vallens there unto belonginge one table boord with freme and a forme or bench and a settle by the sd bedsteede in ye white chamber unto Mary my daughter the wife of Roger Morgan and alsoe I give and demise unto the said Mary my daughter one ticke feather bedd and bowlster and one dowst bedd and a thrown? rugg and a standinge bed steede ? ? ? DW] with the settle by the side of the bedsteede in the chamber or roome next to the hall wherein I doe lye uppon and alsoe I doe give & bequeath one table boord with frame and the benches there unto belonginge, and one cobert and his? cloth, one ? chaire and one square? side boord with frame in the hall unto the afore said Mary my daughter. Item I give and bequeath one great chest one great brass coocke, one lesser brass coocke, one great brass kittle now in the new roome and alsoe two other brass kittles which? rom? only are used within the howse, and one brewinge kittle, and five? pewter platters, two pewter candlesticks, one pewter salt seller, one pewter cupp unto the said Mary my daughter. Item I give and bequeath one dowst bedd one bedd sett rugg, one dowst bowlster one bedsteede now next the stairs head in the chamber rom only called the staire head chamber and ? by the side of the bedsteede and one dowst bedd and bowlster and one french bed steede over the entry unto the said Mary my daughter. Item I doe give demise and bequeath three paire of blancketts seven paire of sheets two o ? and one callico table clothes six flaxen table napkins and sic course table napkins one holland pillow beare and case unto my said daughter Mary. Item I doe give and bequeath one little ticke ould? feather bedd and bowlster and one bedd rugg and the bedd steede which is behinde the table boord in the chamber at ye stayers head, one paire of blancketts with greene shakes? at the ends, one paire of sheets, one table boord with frame in the stair head chamber, one small chest wainscott one old side cubboort in the buttry one old brass cooke one ould dowlas table cloth one pewter platter unto Ann the daughter of my sonne in law George James. Item I give and bequeath one doust bedd and one ould thrown rugg and one small table boord with frame in the white chamber one pewter platter unto Ruth the daughter of the said George James. Item I give and bequeath one table boord wth ..? one end collered? covlett unto John the sonne of the said George James, and alsoe one pewter floggon unto the sd John. Item I give one pewter flagon unto Anchorid? the daughter of the sd George James. Item I doe further give and bequeath one pewter gunn and five pewter flogons, two pewter tankards, three pewter beakers , two pewter fruite? dishes with all the rest of my wooden brewing vessells and other my goods cattles & chattles unbequeathed unto the said Mary my daughter condiconally that the sd Mary or her husband Roger Morgan shall shortly after my decease buy one sheepe and lambe unto Walter? the soone of George James aforesaid. Item I doe nominate and appoynt my sonne in law Roger Morgan to be my sole extor of this my last will and testament and doe hereby utterly revoke and dissannull all former wills & testamts. I doe appoynt my welbeloved friends John Morgan of Newport now Mayor Overseers, and Henry Phillipps the same.
