Morgan Harry of Mynyddyslwyn.

This is the last Will and Testament of me Morgan Harry of the parish of Monithusloyn in the County of Monmouth Gentleman. First I will that all my just debts be paid and whereas I have surrendered all my customary messuages lands and tenements in the parish of Newton Nottage in the Manor or Mannors of Newton Nottage in the County of Glamorgan except such parcells thereof as in the severall surrenders thereof made are excepted to feoffees and their heirs in trust to such uses intents and purposes as I shall direct limit or appoint. And whereas by Articles of Agreement made before my marriage with Mary my now wife late Mary Anthony, spinster I did agree to settle the said premisses so surrendered as aforesaid in joynture to the said Mary my said wife by the said surrenders and Articles of Agreement may appear. Now I the said Morgan Harry for performing my said marriage agreement do hereby direct limitt and appoint the said premisses and it is my will that my said ffeoffees in trust and their heirs shall stand and be seized thereof from and after my decease to and for the severall uses intents and purposes hereinafter mentioned limitted expressed and declared (that is to say) to the use and behoof of Mary my said wife for and during the term of her natural life only according to the custom or customs of the said Manor or Manors and after her decease to the use and behoof of the heirs of my body on the body of the said Mary my said wife lawfully begotten or to be begotten and in default of such issue to the use and behoof of my customary heirs for ever and to no other use intent or purpose. And I do hereby appoint my wife sole executrix of this my will and give her all my personall estate goods and effects to and for her own use. In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal the eighth day of October in the eighteen year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George the second and so forth and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred forty and four. Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said Morgan Harry as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other at his request subscribed our names as witnesses here unto Benj Howell, Officer of Excise at Caerleon; Wm Williams of Caerleon; Hen Morgan of the same.

October 11th 1748. Mary Morgan the relict and sole executrix in the above will named, was sworn well & truely to execute ye same, to the truth of the inventary &c & to render an account &c before me. Evan Eustance

This Will was proved at Abergavenny on the eleventh day of October in the year of our Lord 1748 before the Revd Evan Eustance &c &c by Mary Morgan the relict and sole executrix in the above Will named &c &c

 

An inventary of all and singular the goods and chattles of Morgan Harry late of the parish of Mynithusloine in the County of Monmouth and Diocese of Landaff yeoman deceased made valued and appraised the eighteenth day of February in the year of our Lord 1747 by Roger Philip and Lewis Thomas appraisers as follows, that is to say

Exhibted at Abergavenny on the eleventh day of October in the year of our Lord 1748 by Mary Morgan, widow, the relict and executrix for a true and perfect inventary &c but under protestation of adding &c if any more of the assets of the deceased shall here after come to her hands or possession
