This is the last will and testament of Thomas Gwynn of the parish of Langoven in the County of Monmouth.
I give and bequeath unto my dear nephew Thomas Gwynn, eldest son of my late brother James and Ann his wife two pieces or patches of ground in the hamlet of Gwehellog and parish of Usk now in the occupation of Thomas Watkins at the yearly rent of 30s. I also give and bequeath whatever sum or sums of money I may have at the time of my death, after the payment of my just and lawful debts and funeral expences, to be equally divided between the remaining children of my afore said brother deceased, that is to say, between my nephews James, William, John and Matthew and my nieces Mary and Emma, share and share alike. I hereby appoint and constitute my above named nephews Thomas and James joint executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two. Thomas Gwynn by mark

18th October 1842. Thomas Gwynn and James Gwynn the lawful nephews of the deceased and joint executors in this will named was duly sworn as such and that the goods, chattels and credits of the deceased are under the value of one hundred pounds before me.

Appeared personally Thomas Gwynn of the parish of Langoven in the County of Monmouth, farmer, and James Gwynn of the parish of Mitchel Troy in the same County, butcher, the joint executors named in the last will and testament of the said Thomas Gwynn late of the parish of Langoven aforesaid, yeoman, deceased, who died on the twenty fourth day of May last and made oath that the estate and effects of the said deceased, for and in respect of which a probate of the said will is to be granted, exclusive of what the said deceased may have been possessed of or entitled to as a trustee for any other person or persons, and not beneficially, but including the leasehold estate and estates for years, either absolute or determinable, on a life or lives, and without deducting any thing account of the debts due and owing from the said deceased, are under the value of one hundred pounds, to the best of this deponents knowledge, information, and belief.
