In the name of God Amen I Thomas Evans of ye parish of Langum Ycha wthin the County of Monmoth and Diocess of Landaffe yeoman being weake & sick in body butt of sound & perfect memory (praise be given to Allmighty God doe make & ordaine this my last will & testament in manner & forme following. First I committ my soule into the hands of Allmighty God my heavenly father hopeing & trustinge through ye meritts death & passion of Jesus Christ my onely saviour & redeemer to have free pardon & forgiveness of all my sins and my body I comitt to ye earth from whence it came to be decently buried accordinge to ye discretion of my executrix herein after nominatted.
Ittem: I give and bequeath after ye decease of my selfe and my wife three closures or parcels of arable or pasture ground together with one coppice of wood of freehold land scituate lyinge & beinge wth in ye saide pish of Langum Ycha wch sd lands is called & knowne by the name of (aye tir deued) beinge forty covers of lands or there abouts unto my son Thomas Evans and his heyres for ever. Item I give devise & bequeath after ye decease of my selfe unto my saide son Thomas Evans one other dwellinge house (most comonly called ye tye bach wyrth welin)together wth one pcel of meadow or pasture ground orchard gardens & all outletts there unto belonginge lyinge & beinge wth in ye County & pish aforesaide mearing & adjoyninge to the highway or lane leading from Chepstoll towards Uske to ye lane leading from ye house of me ye said Thomas Evans towards ye village of Langwmissa and to the brooke wch runneth from Mr Cradock Gwin his mill on all partes & sides thereof unto my saide son Thomas Evans & his heyres for ever uppon condition that my saide son Thomas Evans shall satisfy and pay unto his two sisters the sum of fifty pounds of good & lawfull English money att two severall payments (that is to say) the sum of five & twenty pounds unto my daughter Elizabeth Evans att the end of five yeares after she comes to attaine the age of one & twenty yeares. And the like sum of five & twenty pounds unto my daughter Rachel Evans att the end of five yeares after she comes to attaine ye age of one & twenty yeares. And if any or either of my saide two daughters shall happen to dye before the age & time or attaine to ye age & time aforesaide then my will is that my saide son Thomas shall pay the share of her so dying unto her saide sister yt then shall be livinge except five pounds that my saide son Thomas shall pay of ye same to Margarett his mother if she be then alive. Ittem I give & bequeath the lease hould lands where I doe inhabitt in & occupye to my son Thomas Evans after ye decease of my selfe & my wife. Ittem I give & bequeath after my decease a yew & a lamb to my apprentice Susannah: All the rest & residue of my personall estate or moveable goods cattles chattles both quick & deade of whatt quality or quantity soever they be whether in my owne custody or possession or in ye possession of any other pson or persons whatsoever I doe give device & bequeath untto Margarett my well beloved wife towards the dischargeinge & paying my debts & funerall expences nominating & appointing Margarett Evans my said welbeloved wife to be the sole executrix of this my last will & testament disanullinge & makeinge voide all other wills & testaments by me formerly made. In wittness whereof I have hereunto putt my hand & seale the nineteenth day of March in the third yeare of the raigne of our soveraigne Lady Anne by the grace of God Queene over England &c and in the yeare of our Lord God 1703/4.
