In the name of God Amen I Evan
Harris of ye parish of Lanmartin in ye County of Monmoth Gent beinge sick
in body but of pfect memory praised be Almighty God for it doe make this my last
will and Testament in writtinge revokeing all former wills what soever. First I comende my soule to Almighty God and
my saviour Jesus Christe my only redeemer & my body to be buried in
Christian and decent buriall. Item I
give and bequeath unto ye poore of Langum issha ten shillings.
Item I give and
bequeath unto ye poore of Lanmartin five shillings.
Item I give and
bequeath unto my deare wife Mary Harris my silver tankard.
Item I give and
bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Harris my silver salt & six
silver spoones and all ye rest of my household stuffe except ye standards that
are at my house in Langum isha called ye Pentre which sd standards I give to my
eldest sonne George Harris.
Item I give devise
and bequeath unto my eldest sonne George Harris ye lease yt I holde
under ye Priory of Uske lyinge in parte of ye Worlod Leyson he payinge in
consideration thereof twenty pound unto my youngest sonne Henry Harris
and twenty pound unto my daughter Elizabeth Harris.
And lastly I doe
hereby nominate ordeyne and appoint my sd sonne George Harris to be my
executor of this my last will and Testament.
In wittnes whereof I have sett my hand and seale ye 16th day

per presents nos Mary Harris pochi de Lanmartin in Comitatu Monmouth and Henry Ockolds of the
same teneri et firmiter obligari 200 pounds bone et Legalis monete Anglie
solvendis eidem aut certo attornato executorbus administrators vel assign suis
ad quam quidem solutionem bene et fideliter faciendam obligamus nos et utrumque
nostrum per se pro toto et in solidum heredes, executors et administrators
nostros firmiter per presents per presentes sigillis nostris sigillatas Date 4
August & in the 4th year of the
reign of William & Mary by the grace of God &c and Anno dni 1692
The condition of this obligation is
such that if the above bounden Mary Harries ye relict and administratrix
(dureing ye minority of George Harries a minor her naturall and lawfull
son) with ye will annexed of all and singular ye goods cattle and chells of Evan
Harries late of ye parish of Lanmartyn aforesd deceased her husband doe
make or cause to be made a true and pfect inventory of all and singular the
goods chattles and credits of the sd deceased wch have or shall come to the
hands possession or knowledge of the sd Mary Harries or into the hands
& possession of any other pson or psons for her and the same soe made doe
exhibite or cause to be exhibited into ye Registry of the Consistory Court of
Landaffe at or before the twenty first day of September next ensuing. And the
same goods chattles & credits, and all other ye goods chells and credits of
the sd deceased wch at the time of his death or wch at any time after shall
come to the hands or possession of the sayd Mary Harries or into the
hands & possession of any other pson or psons for her doe well and truly
administer according to law, and further doe make or cause to be made a true
& just account of his sayd adstracon at or before the first day of July
next. And all the rest & residue of
the sayd goods, chattles & credits wch shall be found remaining upon the sd
administatrix her account the same being first examined & allowed by the
Judge or Judges for the time being of the sayd Court, shall deliver and pay
unto such pson or psons respectively as the sayd Judge or Judges by his or
their decree or sentence pursuant to the true intent & meaning of a late
Act of Parliament in yt behalfe made & p’vided shall limitt & appoint
and if it shall heereafter appeare that any last will & Testamt was made by
ye deceased and the executor or executors therein named doe exhibit the same
into ye sayd Court makeing request to have it allowed and approved accordingly,
if the sayd Mary Harries above bounden being thereunto required to
render and deliver the sd adstacon (approbacon of such Testamt being first had
& made) in the sd Court. Then this obligation to be void and of none
effect, or else to remaine in full force & vertue. Mary Harris
