In the name of God Amen, I Edward
Prichard of the parish of Cwmcarvan in the County of Monmouth, tylar being
of perfect mind and memory do make this my last will and testament in manor
following. First I give devise and
bequeath the house outhouses garden and appertaining thereto adjoining
Cwmcarvan Church yard if not sould in mene wile by me Edward Prichard
and also the two houses barn and all impurtansis thereunto belongin and land
lying on Cwmcarvan Hill in the said parish of Cwmcarvan in the aforesaid County
of Monmouth to my daughter Kezia Evans during the term of her naturall
life but never to be sould nor mortgage but after her decease the air or airs
is to pay five pounds each to the other children when thay com of age of twenty
one years of age My household furniture are after my decease to be disposed as
my daughter Kezia Evans thinkes proper and the amount there of with all
the redy money that I shall die possessed of after discharging my fueral
expences and paying my just depts I consitute and appoint my daughter Kezia
Evanes whole and sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament and do
hereby utterly revoke disellow and disannul all former bestusts? wills and
legacies by me heretofore in any wise left or made declaring ratifying and
conferming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament and I also
nominate and appoint William Bigham of the parish of Landenny and Walter
Nicholas of the paris of Cwmcarvan
boath in the County of Monmouth executors in trust to see no wilful damage on
the premises and that this my last Will and Testament is duly performed in
witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 1st day
of September in the year of our Lord 1831 12d the day of my funerel for the
ringers – 1d pr year for keeping the graves at Landenny to paid Palm Sunday
from the Upper house for ever & 1d for keeping the graves at Cwmcarvan for
ever.

A Codicil to a
Will. Be it known to all men by these
Presents that I Edward Prichard, tylar of the parish of Cwmcarvan in the
County of Monmouth have made and declared my last Will and Testament in writing
bearing date the first of September 1831 I grant to Margaret Prichard
widow of Walter Prichard a true and term of fourteen years at
four poun four shillings a year if she abides a widow and if shee marries the
trusteads is in pour to rise the rent and my will and meaning is that this
codicil be adjudged to be a part or part and parcel of my last will and
testament and that all things therein mentioned andtained be faithfully and
truly performed as and as fully and truly performed and as fully and amply in
every respect as if the same …? so
declared and set down in my said Will and Testament Witness my hand this first
day of September in the year of our Lord 1831.

personally William Williams of Newington Green in the parish of Saint
Mary Islington in the County of Middlesex Gentleman and Elinor Williams
wife of the said William Williams of the same place and being sworn to
depose the truth make Oath and say that they knew and were for many years well
and intimately acquainted with the above named Edward Prichard deceased
and for many years prior to the time of his death and also with the manner and
character of handwriting and signature having often seen him write and affix
his name to writings and they having now with care and attention viewed the
papers writing hereunto annexed marked No 1 and 2 purporting to be and contain
the true and original last Will and Testament with a Codicil thereto of the
said deceased the said Will beginning thus ‘In the name of God Amen I Edward
Prichard of the parish of Cwmcarvan in the County of Monmouth being in
perfect mind and memory do make this my last Will and Testament in manor
following’ and ending thus ‘Signed sealed published and declared by the within
named testator Edward Prichard. Edward Prichard to be his
last Will and Testament in the presence of us who subscribe our names in the
presence of the testator’ and the said Codicil beginning thus ‘ A Codicil to a
