In the name of God Amen I Elizabeth David of the parish of Cumcarvan in the County of Monmouth, widow and relict of John David late of the parish aforesd, yeoman, deded being (thanks to be to God first) in perfect health do make & ordain this my last will & testamt as follows, that is to say, First I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God hopeing through the merits of Jesus Christ to have pardon for my sins and my body to be buried according to the direcion of my executor and I give unto Elizabeth the wife of George Williams of the parish of Penalt in the County of Monmouth the sum of forty shillings. Also I give unto Mary the wife of James Gunter of the parish of Treleg in the County of aforesd the sum of four pounds. Also I give unto Ann Meredith, widow, of the parish of Whitchurch in the County of Hereford the sum of thirty shillings. Also I give unto Edward Griffith son of Wm Griffith of the parish of Landenny in the County of Monmouth the sum of twenty shillings. Also I give unto John Williams of the parish of Cumcarvan in the County aforesd the sum of forty shillings. Also I give unto the poor of the parish of Cumcarvan aforesd the sum of ten shillings. Also I give unto Mary Richards, widow, as now lives with me the sum of ten shillings. And my will & meaning is that all ye aforesd legacies be paid & discharged at or before the end or expiracon of six months next after my decease. And as to the rest & residue of my estate both real & personal whatsoever I give & bequeath the same unto James Woodward of the Hill in the parish of Dixton in the sd County of Monmouth, Gentleman, his heirs, executors and adms for ever. And lastly I do nominate & appoint the said James Woodward sole executor of this my last will & testamt revoking all other will or wills by me heretobefore made. In wittness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this ninteenth day of March in the twenty sixth year of the Reign of King George the Second and in the year of our Lord 1753. This will was proved at Abergavenny on the ninth day of October in the year of our Lord Christ 1753 before the Reverend Mr William Harris, Clerk, Master of Arts, the Chancellors Surrogate, by James Woodward the sole executor in this will named, who was first on the holy evangelists personally sworn well and faithfully to execute the same and to the truth of the inventary by him exhibited and to render a just account of his administration of the same when thereunto lawfully required
