In the name of God Amen I Francis Bradley of the parish of Ruardeane in the County of Gloucester yeoman being of sound perfect and disposing mind and memory (praise be given to God) doe make ordaine and declare this my last will and testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) First and principally I recommend my soul into the hands of Allmighty God my creator hopeing through the meritts death and passion of my blessed saviour & redeemer Christ Jesus to have full pardon and remission of all my sins and to inheritt eternall life. And my body I comitt to the earth to be decently intered in Christian buriall at the discrecon of my executrix herein after named. And as for such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to blesse me I give devise and dispose of the same as followeth (that is to say) First I give devise and bequeath unto my son Joseph Bradley all that my messuage tenement or dwelling house wherein I now dwell with all houses outhouses barns stables edifices buildings folds outletts gardens orchards and lands thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining or reputed or taken to be part parcell or member thereof, and also all those four pieces or parcells of land with the barne thereto belonging lying and being in the said parish of Ruardeane and lately bought and purchased by me of & from one William Harries pin…? and to and with the sd messuage tenement or dwelling house now occupyed or enjoyed and all and singular other my freehold messuages lands tenements and hereditaments scituate lying and being in the sd parish of Ruardeane and in the County of Glouc’r aforesd with all and singular their and every of their rights members and appurtenances to hold to my said son Joseph Bradley his heirs & assignes for ever upon and under this condicon that the sd Joseph Bradley his heires or assignes doe and shall well & truly pay or cause to be paid unto my five daughters herein after named the severall sums of money or legacys herein after menconed within the times herein after limitted and appointed for paym’t thereof (that is to say) unto my daughter Jane Bradley spinster the sum of thirty pounds of lawfull British money within one yeare after my decease. To my daughters Margarett the wife of James Hiloe and Hannah the wife of Thomas Yearsley the sum of twenty pounds apiece of like lawfull money. To my daughter Mary Williams widdow the sum of two and twenty pounds and ten shillings. And to my daughter Sarah the wife of John Biggs the sum of ten pounds of good money. To be paid to my said four daughters last named respectively within the space of two yeares next after my decease. All wch sd severall and respective legacys I doe hereby give devise & bequeath unto my sd five daughters to be paid to them by my said son Joseph Bradley his heires or assignes in manner as aforesaid. But if my said son Joseph Bradley his heires or assignes shall neglect or refuse to pay the sd severall legacys or sums of money or any or either of them or any part thereof to my sd five daughters within the times before appointed for the paym’t thereof to them respectively as aforesaid. Then and in such case the gift devise and bequest of the sd messuage lands tenem’ts & pr’misses before made to the sd Joseph Bradley his heires & assignes shall cease determine and be void & of none effect. And I doe hereby revoke the same. And then I give devise and bequeath the sd messuage lands tenem’ts hereditaments & pr’misses before menconed with their & every of their appurtenances unto Richard Greenway, Vicar of Walford in ye County of Hereford, John Craddock and Henry Smart both of Ruardeane aforesd yeomen and their heires and assignes for ever upon trust and confidence nevertheless in them reposed that they the said Richard Greenway, John Craddock and Henry Smart and the survivors and survivor of them and the heires and assignes of such survivor shall & will sell convey and assure the sd messuage lands tenem’ts hereditaments & pr’misses with their appurtenances to such person or persons & his or their heires & assignes forever as they shall think fitt. And for the best price that can be had or got by them for the same and upon this further trust that they the said Richard Greenway, John Craddock and Henry Smart and the survivors and survivor of them and the heires or assignes of such survivor shall and will out of the moneys

to be raised out of the sale of the pr’misses aforesaid pay unto the said Jane Bradley the said sum of thirty pounds with lawfull interest for the same from the time that it shall become due as aforesaid to the time of the paym’t thereof and that out of the sd moneys to be raised by the sale of the said pr’misses as aforesaid they shall & will pay unto my sd four other daughters before named the severall & respective legacys or sums of money before menconed to be given to them with lawfull interest for the same from the time that they shall become due to the time of paym’t thereof respectively and that they also satisfie themselves for all their trouble charges & expences which they shall sustaine or be putt to in the execution of this trust and that they pay the residue and remainder of the said moneys to the said Joseph Bradley his heires and assignes (over & above the sd legacys or sums of money & their trouble & charges as aforesd) And my will is that in case the sd pr’misses shall come to be sold that my sd daughter Sarah shall have ye refusall thereof first

Also I give and bequeath unto my grandson Francis Bradley the sum of five pounds of lawfull money of Great Britaine if he continues to dwell with me and dos not leave me without my consent dureing my life and not otherwise to be paid him within one month after my decease in manner following (vizt) fifty shillings part thereof by my daughter Elizabeth Bradley, five & twenty shillings more thereof by my said daughter Jane Bradley, and five & twenty shillings ye residue thereof by my said daughter Mary Williams out of my houshold goods. All wch I doe hereby give and bequeath unto my said three daughters last named in manner following (too witt) the moity or one halfe part thereof to my said daughter Elizabeth Bradley and the other moity or halfe part thereof to my said daughters Jane Bradley and Mary Williams equally to be devided betweene them. And my will is that the division of my said houshold goods betweene my said three daughters last named shall be made by the said Richard Greenway, John Craddock and Henry Smart or the survivors or survivor of them in manner aforesaid with all convenient speed after my decease. And that my said three daughters last named shall be content and take to the said goods by such shares and parts as shall be by them allotted to them as aforesaid. Also I give devise and bequeath unto my said daughter Elizabeth Bradley all my stock of cattle horses sheep piggs and all my corne graine hay goods chattells ready money bills, bonds debts specialtys and all other my personall estate and effects whatsoever not hereby before disposed of to and for the only proper use and behoofe of the said Elizabeth Bradley her executors administrators and assignes for ever. And I doe hereby make nominate and appoint her my said daughter Elizabeth to be whole and sole executrix of this my last will and testament utterly revokeing annulling and making void all and every will and wills by me before made & ratifying & confirming this only to be my last will and testam’t. In witnesse whereof I the said Francis Bradley the testator have to this my last will and testam’t contained in these two sheets of paper to each of them sett my hand and to the second and last of them my hand and seale this twenty nineth day of June in the third yeare of the reigne of our Sovereigne Loed King George over Great Britain &c Anno dni 1717.
