In the name of God Amen the twentie seaventh of August Anno Domini one thousand six hundred twenhie twoe, I William Barber the elder of Matherne in the Dioces of Landaff beinge sicke in body but of perfect minde and memorie doe make this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge, I give and bequeath to my wief Annes the new fether bed with the boulster which belongetli to it and a fether pillow. one paire of white blankets, a paire of flaxen sheetes, one paire of hurden? sheetes, and a paire of hempen sbeetes, a coverled of her owne makinge, and a white Irish rugge. Also I give more to her one brass kettle and an iron crock, twoe pewter platters, one sawcer and a brasse candlestick. Also my will is that if my sonne William and my wief doe dwell togeather in love and charitie that then he shall after my decease ~vell and trulie paie to my said wief the some of twentie shillings yearekie for and towardes her apparrell. but if they doe not agree then my will is that my sonne William shall paie to my said wief the some of fortie shillings yearely dnnnge her widdowe estate, and noe longer. Item I give and bequeath unto Katherine SIye a heyfer with a calfe by her side to be delivered unto her at the age of twentie yeares. The residue of all my goodes, cattles and chattles moveable and unmoveable not hereby given nor bequeathed my deptes paled and my funerall charges dischardged, I give and bequeath to William Barber my sonne whome I make my full and whole executor of this my last will and testament willing and requiringe him as he shall answer the same before god to see my debtes and legacies paled and my will to be in --? and truly performed more my will is that my executor shall pale to James Woodroofe at michelmas next the mime of tenn poundes with the use thereof. Item I give to my wief the one half of all such flax as is my howse to be delivered unto her and I appoint my good freindes Paull Williams and William Tiler to be Overseers of this my will praying them to see it trulie performed.
