            In the name of God Amen I Anne Morris widdow of the parish of Cumcarvan in the County of Monmouth and Diocess of Landaff doe make and ordaine this my last Will in writing in manner and form following.  First I recomend my soule into the hands of Almighty God hoapeing thoro the meritts of Jesus Christ to have free pardon for my sins and my body to be decently buried in a Christian buriall according to the discretion of my executrix hear after mentiond.  I give unto my nephew Henry Williams one pound.  I give unto my neest Jane Thomas one pound.  I give unto Margett Williams my neece one pound all the rest and residue of my personall estate I give unto Elizabeth Morris daughter to John Morris my brother in law.  Lastly I doe apoint Elizabeth Morris to be executrix of this my Will.  In wittness hereof I have hereunto putt my hand and seal this 18th day of January 1739.  The mark of Anne (X) Morris

April the 22nd 1740.   Elizabeth Morris the executrix in the Will named was sworn well and faithfully to execute the same, to the truth of the inventory by her exhibited and to render an account &c before me William Harris, Surrogate

 

This Will was proved at Abergavenny upon the twenty second day of April in the year of our Lord Christ 1740 before the Reverend Mr William Harris, Clerke, the Chancellor’s Surrogate by Elizabeth Morris  the executrix in this Will named who was first upon the holy Evangelists personally sworn well and faithfully to execute the same, to the truth of the inventory by her exhibited and to render a just account of her administration &c when thereunto lawfully required.

 

An inventory of all and singular the goods and chateles of Anne Morris late of the parish of Cumcarvan in the County of Monmouth and Diocese of Landaffe widow deceased, made, valued and appraized the first day of January in the year of our Lord Christ 1739* by Walter Nicholas and John Evans, appraizors as follows, that is to say.

Exhibited at Abergavenny upon the twenty second day of April in the year of our Lord Christ 1740 by Elizabeth Morris the executrix for a true and perfect inventory &c, but under protestation of adding &c if any more of the decedent’s assetts shall thereafter come to her hands, possession or knowledge
