Dora Molgaard always referred to Canby, Minnesota, as her childhood home.  

Canby is in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota.  In reality, Dora's family lived on Jonas Hanson's homestead in Marble Township, Lincoln County, Minnesota, which is the county just south of Yellow Medicine County.  Canby was apparently the family's mailing address.
