War of 1812.
Claim of Widow for Pension, under the Provisions of Section 4736 to 4740 inclusive Revised Statutes, and the Act of March 9, 1878.

State of Arkansas,
County of Nevada,

On this 11th day of April, A.D. one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight personally appeared before me, Clerk of Court, the same being the Court of Record within and for the county and State aforesaid, Barbary Mobley aged 74 years, a resident of Pike County, in the State of Arkansas, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that she is a widow of David Mobley deceased, who was the identical David Mobley, who served under the name of David Mobley as a private in the company commanded by Captain __________, in the regiment of __________, commanded by __________ in the War of 1812; that her said husband David Mobley was drafted in Williamson Co., Tenn., on or about the ____ day of _____, A.D. 1814, for the term od during the war or six months, and continued in actual servicee in said war for the term of 7 months, and whose services terminated, by reason of close of the war at _______, on the ______ day of _______, A.D. 1815. She further states that the following in a full description of her said husband at the time of his enlistment, viz: height about six feet, blue eyes, dark hair and rather fair complected. She further states that she was married to the said David Mobley at the city (or town) of _______, in the county of Clark, and in the State of Arkansas, on the 8 day of July A.D. 1817, by one James Cummins, who was a Justice of the Peace and that her name before her said marriage was Barbary Cryer, and that she has not remarried since the death of the said soldier; and she further states that soldier was not previously married. Soldier drew two land warrants of 80 acres each, and that her said husband David Mobley, died at Pike County, in the State of Arkansas, on thee 5 day of March, A.D. 1859; and she further declares that the following have been the places of residenceeee of herself and her said husband since the date of his dischargee from the Army, viz: Clark county and Pike county, State of Arkansas.

She makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the pesnion ti which she may be entitled under the provisions of Section 4736 and 4740 inclusive Revised Statues, and the Act of March 9, 1878, and hereby constitutues and appoints with full power and substitution and revocation, McGill and Birch of Washington, D. C., her true and lawful attorney, to prosecute her claim and seh further declares that she has heretofore made no application for pension and that her residence is ... county of Pike, State of Arkansas, and that her post-officeee address is Antoine, Pike county, Arks.

On this the 22nd day of October, 1878, before me, C. W. Threlkeld an acting Justice of the Peace in and for the county and State aforesaid, Elijah Kelley and Thomas Lamb, aged respectively Seventy-eight, and Forty-five years, residents of Pike County and State of Arkansas, and who being sworn according to law declare, that they were well acquainted with David Moble. deceased, who was the husband of Barbary Mobley, an applicant for Pension No. 18915, that the said David Mobley died in Pike County, Arkansas on the 5th day of March 1859; said Kelley declares he was present at his death, and the said Lamb declares he was present at his burial.

And further, said Kelley declares he was acquainted with Barbary Mobley, the applicant as foresaid, since the year 1816 and ever since, though not present at her wedding, has no doubt that she was legally married to David Mobley in the County of Clark, State of Arkansas on 8th July 1817; that  he has known her since husband's death, that she has not remarried, but remains his widow up to the present time; and the said Thomas Lamb further declares he has known said Barbary Mobley as the wife of David Mobley before the death of said David Mobley, his wife Barbary Mobley has never married, but remains a widow to the present time; that they have no interest in the prosecution of this claim & their post-office is Antoine, Pike County, Arks.
