December 21,1792 Thomas Morton 

    This indenture made this twenty first day of Dec. in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and ninety two between William Chambers Junr of Person County and State of N Carolina of the one part and Thomas Morton of Prince Edward County and Commonwealth of Virginia of the other part Witnesseth that the said William Chambers for and in Consideration of the sum of Twenty Pounds Virginia Currency to him in Hand paid by the said Thos Morton before the sealing of Delivery of these Presents the Receipt wherof he the said William Chambers Doth hereby acknowledge hath Granted Bargained Sold alsinate ____ of _____ Confirmed and by these Presents doth Grant Bargain sell alienate _____ & confirm unto the said Thomas Morton his Heirs & assigns a certain Tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in the afore said County of Person on the Waters of Marlowes ____ Creek and bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning at a gum bud in a Gully in the Old field and running thence North fourteen chains and fifty links to a (poor?) oak Thence East fourteen Chains to pointers on Harrelsons line then said Harralson line south fourteen Chains to a black Oak tince West fourteen Chains to the Beginning containing Twenty Acres with the Revision and Revisions remainder and remainders Right Estate Benefit Claim and Demands whatsoever of him the said William Chambers & his heirs forever of in and to the said Land and Premises above mentioned and every part and parcel ther of To Have And To hold the said land and Premises unto the said Thos Morton his Heirs and assigns forever to the only purpose & behalf of him the said Thomas Morton his Heirs and Assigns forever and he the said William Chambers for himself and his Heirs shall and will Warrant and forever Defend the said land and Premises with all and Singular their appurtenances unto the said Thomas Morton his Heirs and Assigns forever Against him the said William Chambers and his Heirs and assigns every other Person or persons whatsoever anything having or claiming against the said land and Premises or any part or Parcel Thereof In Witness Whereof the said William Chambers and his Heirs and Assigns other Person or Persons whatsoever anything having or claiming against the said land and Premises or any or Parcel thereof In Witness whereof he the said William Chambers hath hereunto set his hand and Seal the day & year first Expressed.

    This indenture made this 8th day of February In the  year of our Lord one Thousand eighteen hundred and six Between John Barnett of the County of Person and the State of NCarolina of the one part & Joseph Morton of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Barnett for & in Consideration of the sum of one hundred & Twenty four dollars to him in hand paid by the Said Joseph Morton the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Oath given granted Bargained & sold unto the Said Joseph Morton his heirs _____ one certain Tract or parcel of land Situated lying & Being in the County & State afforesaid on the meeting House Branch of Adams Creek Beginning at a Pine on the north Side of the said Branch Running thence South forty chains to pointers on Joseph Gills line thence his line East thirty six chain to a Red Oak thence North forty chains to a red oak thence West thirty six chains to the first Station Containing by estimation one hundred & forty four acres be the same more or less To Have And To Hold the said Bargained one hundred & forty four acres of land together with all privileges appurtenances and Advantages there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said Joseph Morton His Heirs or Assigns forever and the said John Barnett for himself his heirs _____ Adm. Covenant to and agreed with the said Joseph Morton His Heirs or assigns the right and title to the said one hundred & forty four acres of land to the said Joseph Morton His Heirs or assigns to warrant & forever defend against him the said John Barnett his Heirs ____ & Admin & against all & every person or persons Claiming they have In Witnessth Whereof the Said John Barnett hath hereunto set his Hand & affixed his Seal the day & year first above written -

     This Indenture made this the Seventeenth of April eighteen hundred and twenty and the forty fourth year of American independence between Joseph Southard of the County of Person and State of N Carolina of the one part and Talton Morton of Said County and State of the other, witnesseth that for and in consideration the Sum of two hundred and forty five Dollars to him in hand paid by the Said Morton at or before the Signing Sealing and delivering of these presents the Receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained hold aliened and confirmed unto the said Talton Morton his Heirs and assigns forever a Certain tract or parcel of land Situated lying and being in the County and State above mentioned on the Waters of Adams Creek and bounded as follows (viz) Beginning at pine thence West along Isham Edwards line four chains and 50 links to a Stake John Sheltons corner thence along his line a Southardly direction as to large road Meanders to a Red Oak thence South eighty degrees east along the Said Edwards line thirty three chains to pointers in Matthew Mitchells line thence along his line North thirty one chains to a break on the South side of the long Branch thence as the said branch Meanders to the beginning Containing by estimation Seventy three acres and 1/5 as the same more or less to have and to hold all houses waters ways and every thing else Belonging to the Said premises hereby granted and conveyed by him the said Joseph Southard to be appropriate the only proper use and behalf of the said Talton Morton his heirs and assigns forever and the said Joseph Southard doth forever warrant and defend the claim or claims of any other person or persons that ever shall come for said premises in witness whereof the said Joseph Southard doth put my hand and affix my seal Joseph Southard to the day and year above written.

Ramsey of the first part and John Morton of the second part both of the County of Person and State of North Carolina withnessth that the said Thomas T. Ramsey for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and seventy seven dollars and forty cents to him in hand paid by the said John Morton hath given granted bargained and sold allend and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant and bargain and sell allend and confirm unto the said John Morton his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of land or parcel of land situated lying and being in the County of Person and State of NCarollina beginning at pointers in the Carts road on Barclays line thence west to a corner pine thence North to William Ramsey pointers thence East to William Ramsey corner on William Towsends line thence South to the beginning - Containing seventy two Acres by the same more or less with the appurtenance then unto belonging unto the said John Morton his heirs and assigns against him the said Thomas T. Ramsey and heirs and all and every person or Persons what so ever shall warrant and forever defend by these presents In witnessth when of the said Thomas T. Ramsey hath here unto set his hand and seal this the day and year above written.

        This Indenture made and Entered into this 22nd day of Decr one thousand Eight Hundred and forty six between William Ramsey of the first part and John Morton of the second part both of the County of Person & State of North Carolina, Witnesseth that the said Wm. Ramsey for and in consideration of the sum of Twelve Dollars and seventy seven & half cents to him in hand paid by the said John Morton hath given granted Bargained and sold aliened and Confirmed and by these presents doth give grant Bargain and sell aliened and confirm unto the said John Morton his heirs and assigns forever a certain Tract of land of or parcel of land situated lying and being in the County of Person and state of N Carolina beginning at a stake at the Road running West on Townsends line to pointers Thence south on Thos. Ramseys line To a stake on the Road then with the Road to the beginning Containing three & half Acres more or less, with the appurtenances there unto belonging unto the said John Morton his heirs & assigns against him the said Wm. Ramsey and Heirs & assigns forever and all and every person or persons what so ever shall warrant and forever defend by these presents In witness whereof the said Wm Ramsey hath hereunto set his hand and seal this the day & year above written.

November 23 1797

This Indenture made this 23rd day of November Seventeen Hundred & Ninety Seven Between John Siddale of Caswell County and State of North Carolina of the one part & Peyton Morton of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that John Siddale for and in consideration of the sum Twenty Nine pound Current Money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Peyton Morton the Receipt whereof he the said John Siddale doth hereby Acknowledge hath granted Bargained Sold and by these presents doth grant Bargain sell and confirm unto the said Peyton Morton his Heirs & assigns for ever Tract of a certain tract of land I purchased of Gideon Harwell it being the North part of said Land which is to Contain Ninety Seven Acres lying and being in the county of Caswell and on the Waters of County line Creek Beginning at a Pine Richard Moore Corner and Running thence East thirty three chain by the land claimed by Benj Hubbard to a Black Oak thence south sixty Chain and seventy five links to a White Oak thence west Thirty two chain by land claimed by Jonathan Law to a pine on Moores line thence his line North sixty chain & seventy five links to the first station contain two Hundred acres where the said Morton is to have Ninety seven acres to be laid of at the North of it with all its woods ______houses Orchards Fencing and all the Improvements

There on being to have and to hold the above Mentioned Ninety seven acres land and the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said Peyton Morton his Heirs or assigns for Ever against him the said John Siddale and his Heirs and all and every Person or Persons Whatsoever Warrant and for ever Defend by these presents in Witness whereof the said John Siddale hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written

This Indenture made this thirteenth day of December Seventeen hundred and ninty seven between Siah Boman of the County of Caswell & State of North Carolina of the one part and Peyton Morton of the County and State afore said of the other part

Witnesseth that the Said Siah Boman for and in consideration of the Sum of Two Hundred and ten dollars to him in hand paid by the said Peyton Morton, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, hath given granted bargained sold alined & confirmed by these presents doth hereby give grant bargain sell alien and Confirm unto the said Peyton Morton his heirs and assigns for ever all that track or parcel of land situate lying & being in the County aforesaid – Beginning on Jesse Carters line at corner ash we make (there is a blank space here) degrees East twenty chain to a large poplar (aforesaid) thence (another blank space) east Six Chain to a beech Josiah Mortons line, thence along his line, twenty Chain to a Corner ine Siah Bomans & Josiah Mortons, thence (two blank spaces) north to persimmon tree, eight Chain along Said Bomans line, thence along his line eight Chain to a Corner _____? Thence (blank space) degrees west Eleven Chain to a Corner Sycamore tree at the mouth of a Branch on County line Creek, thence up the said Creek west meanders leaving a sufficient mill passway to a corner poplar, ? chains, thence as the line meanders on the stakes for the mile are set up to the Beginning, Containing Seventy acres – together with all woods ways (heredetaments ?) & appurtenances to the Said law belonging, to have and to hold the said missuage or tenement & all & singular the principles before mentioned & every tract and parcel hereof with the appurtenances unto him the said Peyton Morton his Heris & assigns for eer, and the said Siah Boman for him Self his Heirs Executors or administrators the said _____ or tenement and every ____ ______ thereof against him this aforesaid, ? against all and every other person or persons whatsoever to the said Peyton Morton, shall & will by these presents forever warrant & defend. In witness whereof the Siah Boman hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day & year above written.
