Outline For Family of
John Morton
John Morton married Elizabeth "Betsy" Brooks February 21,
1839 in Person County North Carolina. The Bondsman was Harrison Morton. John
died about 1848 and Elizabeth remarried Marcus F. Hamlett on December 1,
1849 also in Person County, North Carolina. I was unable to find the parents
of George G. Morton for many years because the 1850 and 1860 census listed
George and his siblings as Hamlets. I have had many good hearted people help
me to this point with this family line and I want to thank each and every
one of them for getting me this far. The four children born to John Morton
and Elizabeth Brooks Morton are as follows: Charlotte Morton, b.
abt. 1841, William H. Morton b. abt. 1843, John L. Morton, b. abt. 1845 and
George G. Morton, b. Jul. 5, 1846 d. Oct. 21, 1930
