The Family of Edward Moses Morton

Edward Moses Morton was the youngest son born to George G. Morton and Eudora Inge. He was born in Person County, North Carolina on August 24, 1884. I did not find Edward until I found the obituary for my great grandfather, James Chandler Morton. Although the information was not all correct, it was correct enough to find him in Madison County, Tennessee in a small town called Bemis. Edward moved to Bemis, Tennessee around 1905 looking for work. He opened Morton's Garage and had the first ice cream parlor and taxi service in Bemis. If the 1890 census was available I feel sure he would be listed as the youngest born child to George and Eudora. A mountain of mysteries could be answered if only the 1890 census were available. The wonderful thing that occurred during my search was that I found Ruby Attaway Morton, daughter in law of Edward Morton. She was so very helpful and filled in so many blanks for me. I will miss her tremendously as I keep trying to piece together this family.  (See picture below of Morton's Garage in Bemis)

This is Morton's Garage in Bemis Tennessee. This photo was taken around 1920. I believe the last gentleman in the photo in front of the garage is Edward Moses Morton. I do not know the rest of the people in the photo. This photo was sent to me by Wanda Lee, a researcher in Jackson, Tennessee who has been so helpful in my search there.
