David W. Lester was the son of David and Elizabeth Mullins Lester
David W. Lester, of Jones County, Georgia, graduated from Mercer University at Penfield, Georgia, in 1854. His son Hugh David Lester graduated from Mercer University in 1901.

Class of 1901.
Hugh David Lester, Wichita, Kansas, 401 N. Topeka Ave., is vice-president of the 4th National Bank. While at Mercer, Hugh was business manager for the year book and in the Kappa Alpha fraternity.
Among many of Hugh Lester's activities in addition to the vice-president of the bank are: President of Ed. Hockaday & Co., Kingfisher, Okla., member of the Board of Parks Committee, president of Wichita "TB" Association, Treasurer of Wichita Public Museum and a member of the Elks Club.
