118. The information
regarding Carlton Arnold's death was received from Mildred Marshall. However,
I do not know where she obtained the information. There is an entry on
the Genealogical Death Indexing System for Michigan (internet) for a Carlton
Arnold who died 20 Jun 1882 in Niles City, Berrien Co., MI. He is listed
as a single, white male, 2 years old. The cause of death is measles. The
names of his parents are not listed. The date of record is 6 Jun 1883.
This could be the son of Edwin John & Carolyn Julia Arnold. They were
living in Niles at the time of this child's death and the age would fit
into the timeline of children born to them.

date "before June 29, 1879" derived because when their daughter, Jessie

she married Edwin L. Dunham, at the age of 26 (which would have been circa

152. Wedding of

153. Birth date
constructed from certified copy of record of death which states that she
was 60 years, 0 months, and 26 days old when she died on August 12, 1914.
The death record also states that she was born in Ohio, as does her obituary.
However, her daughter's (Bernice Adell Dunham) birth record and Federal
census records show her being born in Indiana. Since she is likely to have
provided her birthplace information at that time, I believe Indiana to
be her place of birth. Her obituary states that she was born June 16, 1854.
This date needs to be researched further. Birth information also taken
from 1900 and 1910 federal censuses, Coldwater, Branch Co., Michigan.
