Submission from Susan Ann Compton Carpenter
Date: 28 July 2004
Area: England, Canada, USA
I am looking for any information about Ann Heathcote Higgins (b. 1789 Blackwall and
Stepney, London,
England to d. 1860 Louisville, KY). Ann's father is John Higgins apparently living in the Stepney area
(London) about 1770 onward.
Ann married John Thomas Want at Stepney Church (I'm thinking it was probably
St. Dunstan's parish church) before emigrating to America through Quebec and Perth, Ontario, Canada
between 1812 and 1814.

was a type of flat-bottomed boat used for goods transports.
