WOLFE FAMILY HISTORY

Our earliest known confirmed Wolf(e) ancestor is Michael Wolf, born 17 October 1812 in Virginia or Ohio and died between 1870 and 1876 in Phelps Co., Missouri. Michael was married to Nancy Furray on 13 November 1834 in Crawford Co., Missouri. There is a suggestion that Michael's parents were James and Susan Wolf, but this is unconfirmed.

Michael and Nancy had 14 children, at least 7 of whom lived to adulthood and married.

4. John C. Wolf, b. 10 May 1838 in St. James, Crawford (now Phelps) Co., Missouri d. 28 October 1914 in Phelps Co., Missouri. Married Sarah (Sally) Ann O'Neal on 27 March 1862 in Phelps Co., Missouri.
5. Margaret Wolf, b. 22 July 1841 in Crawford (now Phelps) Co., Missouri d. 30 October 1847 in Crawford (now Phelps) Co., Missouri.

13. Lucinda (Lucy or Lecreasy) Wolf, b. 12 August 1860 in Phelps Co., Missouri d. after 1876.
14. Jacob Lytle Wolf, b. 7 February 1864 in Phelps Co., Missouri d. 15 June 1944 in Phelps Co., Missouri. Married Parzetta ("Zettie") Pryor on 24 April 1887 in Phelps Co., Missouri.

Michael Wolfe, Jr. (1848-1914) and his wife Mary Catherine Lenox (1849-1914) were the parents of Laura Lucretia Ellen Wolfe (1885-1981) who was married to Stephen Edward Merrill.
