Sesquicentennial Edition
UPDATE: I'm working on the narrative of the book, as well as updating the genealogy section. That part will be in a totally new format for this edition of the book. Within the past week have collected a number of new photographs and have found a previously missing line of the Herren/Wallace family! Up until the point I have the book printed I can get information in, but time is of the essence. I'm already behind what I thought was a conservative schedule. The final edition of the Oregon Trail Families will be published in the summer of 2009, in honor of Oregon's Sesquecentennial. Members of the Robbins and allied families (Herren, Wallace, Clark, Keizer, Caton, Hastay, Leonard, Barnes, Hamilton, Sharp, Barstow, Gilliam, Loveridge, Benson, Tatom, Garwood, Alderman, and others) have played important roles in Oregon and Pacific Northwest history. The State of Oregon will be celebrating it's sesquecentennial in 2009 and it seems appropriate to celebrate our family's contribution to the state's history and growth.
In 1988, after ten years of research, I published the first edition of the Robbins and Herren history. Many family members contributed additional information and photographs after that, and others, not located until after publication, filled in gaps in their line of the family history. In 1998 I revised the book with this additional information. Since that time, even more information has been found and other descendants located. It's time for a new edition.
If you would like to contribute information - additions or corrections to the genealogy - stories and photographs for the narrative - please contact me. This will be the last chance for making sure your family information gets in the book - please respond as soon as possible.
