John Henigar "Jim" MITCHELL was born 22-Mar-1848 in Cedar County, Missouri. He died 03-Jan-1917 in Prosperity, Jasper County, Missouri. He married Mary Jane Kirk, probably in Missouri. Date and place are unknown.
Mary Jane Kirk was born September 15, 1848, in Cedar County, Missouri. She died October 12, 1936, Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas.
Jim and Mary Jane (Kirk) MITCHELL had the following children: (1) Dorothy L. MITCHELL (2) Emma MITCHELL (3) Sarah MITCHELL (4) Wiley B. MITCHELL (5) Mary Alderina MITCHELL, b. 08-30-1881, Shady Grove, Polk County, Missouri, died April 03, 1949 in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas. She married James J. Crow. (5) Moses MITCHELL, b. Shady Grove, Polk County, Missouri - this child must have died in infancy or childhood. (6) William Riley MITCHELL, b. 1893, Carthage, Jasper County, Missouri, died 1938, Augusta, Butler County, Kansas. He married Mae Buckner. (6) James Albert MITCHELL, b. June 26, 1894, Rolla, Phelps County, Missouri. He died March 31, 1969 in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas. He married Mary Sierra Roush and had 13 children.
The second child of James Albert MITCHELL was Mable Irene MITCHELL Green Pennington. She was born 30-Aug-1922 in Wichita, Sedgwick Co., Kansas. She is still alive and well for her age. She is an aunt of Dottie Keegan, and told her the following stories.
