James Theodore Valiga

James Theodore Valiga, 78, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2007, at his home of 50 years in Aliquippa.
Born March 25, 1929, in West Aliquippa, a son of the late John and Bertha Valiga, he was a member of St. George Byzantine Catholic Church. He was a retired employee of J&L's LTV Steel Corp. and was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his country.
Surviving are his two sons, James A. and Russell T. Valiga; grandchildren, Heather and James M. Valiga; brothers, Paul Valiga, Aliquippa, and Tom Valiga, Poulsbo, Washington; sisters, Bertha Jean Gall, Coraopolis; Elizabeth Bare, Aliquippa, and June Rose Selley, Ambridge, and his dearest friend and companion of eight years, Marge Raychevich.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Delsie; brothers, John, George, Mike, and Joe, and sisters, Ann Pierce and Helen Madonna.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the DARROCH MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 2640 Mill St., Aliquippa (www.darrochfuneral home.com), where a Panichida service will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. at St. George Byzantine Catholic Church.
A Parastas service will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 3500 Brooktree Rd., Wexford, PA 15090.
