Jean Baptiste Nadeau
moved from Quebec, Canada to Marinette, Marinette
County, Wisconsin in 1890. His parents were
already living there. Before coming to Wisconsin
he had built box factories, saw mills and
lumber mills form the Dakotas to the Carolinas.
In 1890 the Cook and Rathborn Co of Chicago
contracted him to build them a factory in
Marinette. Upon completion of the factory,
he was asked to be the superintendent of
the factory where he worked until 1918. The
picture of him standing in from of the mill
was taken in 1896.
He was the son of Joseph Nadeau and Marie
Olympe Lebeuf. His mother took sick
