He married Maudie Marie Rolfe daughter of Kenneth Rolfe and Mary Alice Kahl 18 Apr 1954 at the Baptist Church, Holton, Jackson County, Kansas. She was born 19 Jul 1935 in Wetmore, Nemaha County, Kansas and died 24 Nov 2010 at the  St. Francis Hospital, Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas. They are both buried at Mayetta Cemetery, Mayetta, Jackson County, Kansas

 MAYETTA Samuel L. DeBusk, 82, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Rolling Hills Nursing Facility in Topeka.


He was born March 7, 1929 at Morrill, the son of Carl and Emily R. Flanders DeBusk. He graduated from Holton High School in 1947. He later graduated from R.O.T.C. and earned his Silver Wings. He married Maudie Marie Rolfe on April 18, 1954 on Easter Sunday at Holton. She passed away November 24, 2010. Sam worked at Foremost Milk Company and Goodyear Tire and Rubber (Retired) in Topeka and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Sam loved to go to auctions. He was a great buyer, seller, trader and collector. He started North Side Antiques in Mayetta as a place to put his love of buying and collecting. Sam and Maudie later moved to Kincaid, Kansas where they raised Longhorn cattle, exotic birds, chickens and llamas. They loved to go to Bingo and travel the countryside going to auctions. He was a long time member of Kansas Fur Harvesters and helped give seminars at K-State. Sam was preceded in death, by a sister Martha R. DeBusk Horner, and two brothers, Carl D. DeBusk, and Clarence Babe DeBusk Survivors include three sons, Steven L. DeBusk and wife Deborah, Leawood, KS, Ernest J. DeBusk, Mayetta, and Jeffrey A. DeBusk and wife Anna, Topeka: seven grandchildren and one great grandson. Graveside services were held at the Mayetta Cemetery. Maudie Marie Rolfe Obituary

MAYETTA Maudie DeBusk, 75, died Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. She was born July 19, 1935, at Wetmore, the daughter of Kenneth and Mary Kahl Rolfe. She attended country schools around Wetmore and Circleville and graduated from Circleville High School. Maudie was a licensed appraiser for the State of Kansas. She was a member of the Garnett United Methodist Church, a Sunday school teacher at the church, and a 4-H leader for over twenty years with the Jackson County 4-H. She married Samuel L. DeBusk on April 18, 1954, on Easter Sunday at Holton. He survives. Maudie was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Rolfe. Survivors include three sons, Steven L. DeBusk and wife Deborah, Leawood, KS, Ernest J. DeBusk, Mayetta, and Jeffrey A. DeBusk and wife Anna, Topeka; two brothers, James Rolfe, Holton, and Bill Rolfe, Denver, CO; two sisters, Carol Haney and husband Dave, and Susan Williams, all of Topeka; a sister-in-law, Nelda Rolfe, Holton; seven grandchildren and one great- grandson. Maudie was cremated. Graveside services were held at the Mayetta Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Jackson County 4-H, and may be sent in care of the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P.O.
