Dr. Scot H. Edington
Obituary
He was a proud member of the Burkett
Bluehawks basketball team. His grandfather Walter R. Chambers was his
coach and he took the team to state during Scot's senior year in 1957.
He earned his high school diploma from Burkett in 1957. His was the
last graduating class from Burkett. He earned his Bachelor of Science
in Agriculture from Texas Tech in 1961, Master of Education from
Hardin Simons in 1966, Master of Science in Biology in 1971 from
Abilene Christian University and his Doctor of Education from Texas
Tech in 1979. He was a member of the American Association of School
Administrators, Texas Association of School Administrators, Phi Delta
Kappa, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and the
Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife Lynda; his son
and daughter-in-law, Howard and Debbie Edington, who reside on the
family ranch; his daughter and son-in-law Toni and Truet Hart, who
reside in Eastland. He loved to spend time with his grandkids and was
especially proud of them; Zach and wife Mandi Edington of Coleman,
Stephanie Edington of Burkett, Tyler Hart and Tori Hart of Eastland.
He is also survived by his parents and his sister and brother-in-law,
Valeta and Jimmy Brown of Cross Cut.
Pall bearers will be his nephews: Randy
Jones of Early, Rodney Jones of Frisco, Nathan Jones of Crawford, Eric
and Mark Tyler of Brownwood, Matt and Cody Reed of Cross Plains, and
Chris and Jody Brown of Frisco.
