Carl Bailey son of Louis Franklin Bailey and Eva Lee Mahaffey was born 07 Mar 1925 in McCaulley, Fisher County, Texas and died 16 Jul 2008. He married Phylecea DeBusk daughter of Rommie Rector DeBusk and Elsie Bertha Koenig 25 Dec 1947 in Anson, Jones County, Texas. He is buried at  Willow Cemetery, Haskell County, Texas.

Carl Bailey went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 16, 2008. The funeral service will be 2:00pm Saturday, July 19, 2008 in the Cornerstone Baptist Fellowship Sanctuary with burial following in Willow Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Holden McCauley Funeral Home, July 18, 2008.

Carl was born March 7, 1925 in Fisher County near McCaulley Texas. He was the son of the late Louis and Eva Lee (Mahaffey) Bailey. He married Phylecia (DeBusk) Bailey on December 25, 1947 in Anson Texas.

Carl served his country in World War II. He served in the 4th Infantry Division 22nd Infantry Regiment in Germany under General George Patton.

Carl and Phylecia made their home in Haskell Texas where he farmed for forty years. Carl had a great love for fishing, hunting and golfing. One of his greatest accomplishments was helping his son build Tangle Oaks golf course near Hawley. A labor of love for the whole family. Carl was a Little League coach for the Haskell Tigers in 1977 and he proudly coached the All Star Game that same year.

Carl became an ordained Deacon at Curry Chapel in Haskell County in 1951. He was a deacon at First Baptist, Haskell and served his Lord for the last time at Cornerstone Baptist Fellowship in Haskell, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

Carl is survived by his wife of 60 years Phylecia, daughter Lana Bailey Parker of Abilene, son Ronnie Bailey of Haskell, son and daughter-in-law Mark and Gayle Bailey of Hawley. He was Papaw to four grandchildren Katie Parker of Ft. Worth, Andrew of Crockett, Rachel Bailey and Lawson Bailey of Hawley.
