[NI0219] Lucinda Martin McDaid Capper applied for a widow's pension based on the military service of her second husband, John Capper, who died in 1908. She submitted a sworn statement as to the death of Michael McDaid in 1892, and as to the deaths of John Capper's first two wives. She also swore that she had never applied for the pension of her first husband, M. S. McDaid, although the file contains a power of attorney given to Frank S. Mason of Bellaire Ohio, signed on October 13, 1801 (although I believe this should read 1901, since a form was used on which the "eighteen hundred and" was preprinted) giving him the right to "prosecute My Claime for Pension..." She was called "Lucinda McDaid" on this P. of A. although she married John Capper in 1893.
