My Great-Grandfather

Family Tradition says that John was only a half-brother to the children of Thomas S & Catherine (Kilgore) Milliken. John was born six years prior to his father's marriage and is rumored to have been the son of an Amish girl, but raised with the Milliken family so the mother would not be ostracized from the Amish community. No proof has been found to substantiate this information, but as soon as John reached the age of adulthood, he moved away from the Juniata County Millikens to the Belleville, Mifflin County area where he resided for the rest of his life. Belleville is a very strong Amish area.
