On a photo Post Card sent to a son or daughter of Anne Milliken Morris in Calhoun Co, WV, the following was written by Mary or Lyda Milliken, daughters of Edward & Lydia Milliken. I've included it to give a sense of what pioneer living in Greene County must have been like.

Dear Cousin,
We are all well and all the rest are well and hope this will find you all well. We have been having a pretty cold old fashioned winter so far. We hope you are enjoying the new year. This is the picture of Billy Pews old log house but these ain't the Pews that is standing by it. It is where your mother [Anne Milliken] and the rest of the Millikens had many a spot of fun and now it is our grain house. I also send you a clipping of the death of your uncle. Please write soon. From your cousins, Mary & Lyda M.
