This is what David wrote about the photographs,

"I acquired these photographs in auction some time ago along with some others. Most of the others have been identified as showing aspects of the life of one James BROWN, a South Australian sheep farmer with connections to the CARGILL family in New Zealand. Others in the group appear to have a Norfolk connection, possibly with a family called GARNHAM. Several are taken in studios in Great Yarmouth. Whether all the photographs are in some way related or fall into the two (or more) groups remains to be seen.

This photo portrait was probably taken 1930's? The young Soldier seen here is a Lieutenant of the Norfolk Regiment.

This what David wrote about this group photograph,

" A group, apparently photographed in India, including what appears to be Diplomatic and Embassy staff including military personnel. Possibly 1930s. Of particular interest is the officer seated on the left (as one looks at the photo) of the main seated figure. He appears to be the same officer that appears on the portrait of a Lieutenant of the Norfolk Regiment (above).

Both these photographs were part of a anonymous collection acquired by David Hallam some years ago. Clues associated with this and other photographs - the regimental connection and the portrait (DHAL 1) which was taken in a Great Yarmouth studio - suggest that he may have been a member of a Norfolk family . There are other indications that there may have been connections with the GARNHAM, BROWN and/or CARGYL families."
