Notes for MABEL MARIE HOOVER:

OBITUARY

Mabel Marie Hoover, daughter of J. H. and Nancy A. Hoover was born near Union City, IND., June 27 , 1899, and died January 10, 1917, aged 17 years, 6 months, and 1 day. She was united in marriage to W.M. Crawford, December 23, 1915, to this union one child, Marguerite Marie was born.

Early in life, at the age of 12, she confessed her faith in the Christ, and was buried with him by baptism and rose to walk in newness of life. Just entering the border of motherhood, she was overtaken by the common destiny that awaits us all, that life begins with the cradle and ends with the tomb.

Mabel was an affectionate daughter and sister, a loving and faithful wife and her death leaves disconsolate her husband and child, father, mother, two sisters, Grace A. Pierce of Pasadena, Cal., and three brothers, Oria C., Virgil L., and Everett R., together a large circle of relatives and friends. While our hearts are sad, God is able in His grace to sustain us, if we lean upon, and put our trust in Him, and he has promised that sometime int he summer land of love, we shall meet agian.

We would not say to you " weep not " for Jesus wept and these words come from the shortest and sweetest verse in the Bible, but let us find consolation in the thought, that if we have one less tie to earth we have one more to Heaven.

Gone are the flowers that bloom in the wild wood, gone is the day leaving darkness and night; gone is the life full on promise and sweetness withered and dark under Death's chilling blight.

Soring cometh soon, bringing fragrance and beauty, day will return with a radiance rare; life shall continue in utter completeness when in bright glory Christ's bounty we share.

Mabel we bid thee a loving sorrowful farewell.
