Etsler / Etzler Families
of Maryland and Pennsylvania

On 21 September 1751, three brothers and a sister came to America on the ship, Two Brothers, from Rotterdam via Cowes.   Only Johan George Etsler's name appears on the ship's list of passengers.   It could have been the father with the same name or the son (believed to be the eldest) since he would have been old enough to be listed.   Also appearing on the ship's list is a Johan Jacob RATGE/RADGE who is likely the husband of the sister or perhaps the father-in-law.   Later church records show children to a Margaret and Jacob Radge/Ratge, but since the ages are unknown, this could be them or possibly one of their children.   The will of the sibling Johannes does indicate his sister was married to a Radge.   Thus far, the parents of these siblings are unknown.   Other spellings of this surname have been AETZLER, UTZLER.   This is the data I have been able to uncover thus far.
