- Estate of Henry HERSPERGER - Sale of Real Estate Peter WILLIARD, William S. HERSPERGER, exec/of Abraham WILLIARD vs Hanson RAMSBURG, Peter YOUNG of J., John HERRING of C. and others, William S. HERSPERGER, petitioner, shows final decree was passed on 16 Mar 1861 for sale and distribution of real estate of Henry HERSPERGER, deceased, with petitioner appointed trustee. Petitioner sold one of the farms for $3,478.94 which has since been distributed. The other farm of 177 acres was in the occupancy of the widow and has been held by her sincem by consent of the parties to this cause, she being the mother and grandmother of all interested parties. The widow died in the summer of 1878 and the parties now want to settle the remainder of the estate. Petitioner requests he be relieved of being trustee and asks that Tilghman T. HERSPERGER be appointed. Since the sale and distribution of the previous sale of property, three of the children of Henry have since died, leaving surviving children - - Oliver HERSPERGER, now dec'd, leaving two sons, .....Scott HERSPERGER - Kentucky .....Clay HERSPERGER - Colorado - Malinda, now dec'd w/o James SMITH, leaving 5 children - KY .....Levidaas SMITH .....Hattie SMITH, a minor .....Tilghman SMITH, a minor .....Stewart SMITH, a minor - Elizabeth BARRICK, now dec'd, leaving 2 children, .....Charles BARRICK - Montgomery County .....Addie BARRICK, a minor - Frederick County Sale was to be held at Broad Run on 14 Dec 1878, but they didn't receive any sufficient bids. Land is four miles south of Middletown near Broad Run and adjoins lands of William GROVE and Samuel DELAUTER. Land was sold on 14 Jul 1879 to Cornelius L. HARLEY for $45/acre.
