These are abstracts from wills of Mid Maryland Counties; Records located at Maryland State Archives.
Robert SMITH died c 1818 with a will stating part of lands purchased
from John BUCHANAN, trustee of James CHAPLINE, to Samuel Merrit HITT,
who immediately took possession of the land after the death of Smith,
receiving the profits thereof . HITT and Archibald M. WAUGH were executors
of Smiths’s will but Waugh has since died (before Dec 1829) leaving HITT
as surviving executor.
