To wife Anna Margaretha, all the personal
estate during life and what remains at her death to my children, none of
whom are named. Letters to wife Anna Margaretha. Wit:
George Weber, John Lang.
In the name of God the Father, Son and Holy
Ghost, Amen.
Whereas, I Georg Christ of Tulpehocon township,
Berks County, in the Province of Pennsylvania and now old and very sick
and weak, but yet, God be praised, of good understanding, I will therefore,
according to the best of that understanding which God hath yet ______ me,
put my Household in Order as I know not when I am to die.
Firstly, Should I happen to die before
my Wife, Anna Margaretha, she shall then keep all the Personal Estate which
we have in her possession during her life. Secondly, Further in case
any thing remain after the death of my wife Anna Margaretha, each of my
children shall have the same as another and all that she leaves shall be
divided in equal shares, and when God requires me from the World, then
shall this my Last Will, which I make known by a Testament, be firmly and
inviolably observed. This done the 28th October in the Year of Our
Lord Christ, One thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy. Witness my Hand
and Seal before Witnesses.

Know all Men by these Presents that We Anna
Margaretha Christ, widow and relict of George Christ, late, of the Township
of Tulpehocken in the County of Berks in the Province of Pennsylvania,
yeoman deceased and George Weber and John Lang, both of the same Place,
yeomen are held and firmly bound unto Benjamin Chew Register General for
the Probate of Wills and Granting Letters of Administration in and for
the Province of Pennsylvania and for the Sum of One Hundred Pounds lawful
money of Pennsylvania to be paid to the said Benjamin Chew Register general
his certain Attorney Executor Administrators of Assigns To which Payment
will and truly be made. We do bind Ourselves our heirs Executors
Administrators and every of them jointly and Severally for and in the whole
firmly by these Presents Sealed with our Seals Dated the Nineteenth Day
of April in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy
Four.
Whereas the above named George Christ did
on the Twenty Eighth day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand
Seven Hundred and seventy, rightly and duly make his Last Will and Testament
in Writing under his Hand and Seal and did publish the same before witnesses
whose Names are there to subscribed but did not nominate any Executor or
Executrix there of and the said Testator is since deceased (as is alleged)
which said Last Will and Testament was this day duly proved in the Register
s Office at Reading in the County of Berks aforesaid And Whereas Administration
(with the Will annexed) is granted unto the said Anna Margaretha NOW THE
CONDITION of his obligation is such that if the above bounden Anna Margaretha
Christ Administratrix (with the Will annexed) of all and singular the Goods
Chattels Rights and Credits which were of the above named George Christ,
deceased do make or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all
and singular the goods chattels rights and Credits which were of the said
deceased within the said Province viz which have or shall come to the Hands
Possession of Knowledge of the said Anna Margaretha or into the Hands Possession
or Knowledge of any other Person or Persons for her and the same so made
do exhibit or cause to be exhibited in the Register Generals Office at
Reading same so made do exhibit or cause to be exhibited in the Register
Generals office at Reading in the County of Berks at or before the nineteenth
day of May next And the same Goods Chattels Rights and Credits which were
of the said Deceased at the time of his Death or which at any time heretofore
have come or hereafter shall come to the Hands Possession or Knowledge
of the said Anna Margaretha into the Hands Possession or knowledge of any
other Person or Persons for her do well and truly administer According
to Law And further do make or cause to be made a true and just Account
Calculation or Reckoning of the said Administration at or before the nineteenth
Day of April in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and seventy
five. And all the Rest and Residue of the said Goods and Chattels
Rights and Credits which shall be found remaining upon the said Administratrix
Account the same being first examined and allowed by the Orphans Court
of the County of Berks shall deliver and pay to such Person or Persons
as the said Court by the Decree or Sentence Shall limit and appoint And
if it shall hereafter appear that any other Last Will and Testament of
a later Date than the Will and Testament herein before recited was made
by the said Deceased and the Executor or Executrix therein named do exhibit
the same into the said Office making Request to have it allowed and approved
accordingly if the said Anna Margaretha being there unto required do deliver
up the aid Letters of Administration (with the Will annexed) Approbation
of such Testament being first had and made in the said office then this
Obligation to be void and of none effect or else to be and remain in full
Force and Virtue.
