Survivors include a son, Joseph, Inverness; a daughter, Linda Jones, Hernando; a stepson, Rickey Robbins, Tularosa, N.M; a stepdaughter, Joyce Howard, Baltimore, Md; four sisters, Martha, Mary, Tilley and Bess; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. At the request of the family, there will be no formal service for Jessie Pillow Gunter, 88, of Vacaville.

Mrs. Gunter died April 11, 2003, following a long illness.

Born Feb. 19, 1915, in Kentucky, she was a 22-year resident of the Leisure Town section of Vacaville and was a longtime homemaker who enjoyed bridge and bowling.

Mrs. Gunter is survived by her grandchildren, Brett DeCair, Diana Romano and Alden Owen of California, Jon Owen of Washington and Koni Foster of Nevada; brothers, Hazle Nicholas and Eugene Nicholas of Detroit, Mich., and Alben Nicholas of San Diego; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, both of her husbands, Wayne and Gordon, and both of her children, Carol and Norman.

Arrangements were by Vaca Hills Chapel.2
