"These are to certify that, the Bearer, James Wright & his wife Marianne Boyde, alias Wright have from infancy till now maintained a [illegible] & religious walk free from Scandal -- that they were duly joined in marriage by me on the 5th of October 1825 and that for many years they have been regular members of my Congregation enjoying all Sealing Ordinances -- that they have observed God's word & life in their family which is now numerous, & that they faithfully & humbly labor to instruct & bring up their children in the the fear of God & like Common Faith with his own people in which they so far have had success & comfort -- and being now about to Emigrate to Upper Canada with their Eight Children, they are hereby commended to the regards, the confidences & kinship of the Brothers & Sisters in the Presbyterian Church with Christian greetings & prayers.
