Wellington A. Hiester, Sr.

Wellington A. Hiester, Sr., 84, died Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. in his residence at 723 Blandon Road, Ruscumbmanor Township.

Hiester was predeceased by his wife, Patricia W. (White) Hiester, on June 1, 1981.

He had been the owner-operator of Hiester's Raodside Market at his residence since 1971. Hiester also raised Yorksire pigs from 1957 to 1971.

Born in Bern Township, he was a son of the late Adam and Ella (Reber) Hiester.

Hiester was previously employed for 15 years by the former Berkshire Knitting Mills, Wyomissing.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are a daughter, Joyce D., wife of Warren Fenstermaker, Phoenix, and three sons: Richard K., at home; Wellington A., Jr, Beaufort, S.C.; and the Rev. Ronald N., Seward, Alaska.

Other survivors include two brothers, Walter, Aberdeen, Wash., and Paul D., Reading and two sisters, Mildred, wdiow of Charles Cronrath, Pottstown, and Helen, widow of Milton Ochs, Fritztown.

There are also 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren .

Services will be Monday at 1:30 p. m. in the Daniel R. Christ Funeral Home, Oley. Burial will be in Berks County Memeorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
