My dear uncle Earle and aunt Katie how very much you meant to me probably because you let me know how very much I meant to you.  I remember the times when you were first married how you would invite me to spend the night with you.  How you would affectionately call me "Jodie Blonde" after a song that was popular at that time when I was seven years old.

All the times that you opened your home for family get togethers.  Times when I know it had to have been a hardship on both of you, yet you never complained.  Especially aunt Katie when it was your husband’s family but yet you were so willing to share your home and make the sacrifices that could not have been easy for you.  How many times did you have all of the family together uncle Earle to pray for the family to take on the responsibility of making sure that the family held on to that believe in God that our grandparents, your parents left to us.

Uncle Earle Reverend Price has mentioned you often in his sermons and of the great wisdom that you had, how I wish I would have listened closer to the advice you were so willing to share with me.  Your wife Katie talked often of this after you were gone, she was so devoted to you and your memory.  It was because of this that she showed your family so much love, was willing to live many miles apart from her family and make your family hers.  A friend who had known you for years remarked to me a few years ago that you had been his example, that he had watched you through the years because you did not speak of how a person should live, you lived it and that was the greatest tribute that can be said of a person.  Uncle Earle you lived the life that was an example to all of us.

Most of all I want to thank both of you for stepping in and showing me the love that you knew I so desperately needed after the loss of my mother.  You made me feel special and deeply loved.

I can never thank both of you enough for the love and concern you showed for our family.  You both will be remembered forever with loving thoughts of all that you meant to us and showing us the path which you followed that we all should follow.

You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of you,
at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
