MY
SISTER
KATHLEEN LOUISE OLIN

"IN LOVING MEMORY

Kathleen Louise Olin
Born:  April 30, 1937
Died:  July 2, 1937

You are definitely our treasure in heaven just like my daughter Melanie. That is what is on both of your headstones because you're both treasures that have been missed so very much. I know your departing left our parents in so much despair.

You died before I was born and how much I wish you could have been here so I could have had a sister, something I have definitely missed. I have often wondered what it would have been like to have had you, my sister. I would like to think we would have been best friends, that we would have been there for each other. To talk with, share our life experiences, to comfort each other, all the things that sisters share that we were denied. I have found a poem that perhaps explains the reason God wanted you home with him.

MY SISTER

Strolling through the garden of heaven
God plucked a flower so fair
And sent her to earth as a
sister for me to share.

But the Angels came
much sooner than
our parents had planned.

To have sent someone else
would have been so unkind.

Because you sister were the most
"Precious Gift" that God could find.

You brought such happiness to our parents during your brief stay here on earth. I only wish that I could have been able to share in that happiness. But I know someday I will get to meet you in heaven, "My Sister" and share eternity with you. Until that day when we finally get to meet, I will hold you in my heart with love and speak of you often as I always have.
