My most beloved father how very much you meant to me. Even though after mother died and I was unable to be a big part of your life you still were very special to me. For me I was always a “Daddy’s Girl” even after I was grown and had children of my own. You always let me know that I was your girl and very special to you too.
I reminisce and talk about you to your grandchildren all the time. I tell them of how active you were in the church, playing the piano and being secretary of the Christ Ambassadors. How you were so active in the union, being the union steward, when you worked for the Metropolitan Bus Lines for so many years. How you were so active in the political arena in the Phoenix area. You were so very active in so many different areas and still remembered today by people that were associated with these activities.
I think what I remember the most is your faith in God and playing
the piano every evening when you came home from work before mother died. You would play the song "Don't Fence Me In" for me and you would let me stand up next to the piano and sing for all of you. You and mother always made me feel so important and special; you always made me feel like I was talented too and could really sing. Then you would play that favorite song of you and your father’s "The Last Mile of the Way" which you would play everytime you can to see me after mother was gone. Music was so much a part of your life and you had such a wonderful talent given by God and you used that talent for him for many years.
Your grandchildren have all expressed how they wish they could have known you. My sons particularly wish you were here so you could help them in their musical pursuits. They have inherited your talent for music and what a inspiration you would be for them.
Dearest father I know you are with my mother and Kathleen and the baby brother that was lost right before our mother died. I know you are there playing the piano for them and grandpa Olin, I am sure, is singing along as you play. Until that day when we are all joined around the piano with you, know that you are forever loved in the hearts of your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and now a great great grandson who are waiting to join you.
