My dear uncle Charlie what a blessing you must have been to your parents. Their oldest child and named after your father, Alfred Charles Olin. The oldest of six children and the oldest of five boys.
How wonderful it would have been to have known you. By the time I was born you were living in Oregon. I know if you would have stayed in Phoenix and I had been living close to you I would have been able to learn more about the Olin and Ellsaesser heritage. I know there would have been many stories that you could have related to be passed on to future generations.
I certainly have fond memories of your visit to Phoenix in the 1960"s when you came with my father to visit me at my house. You were so friendly, kind and gentle. You certainly made me feel that I was definitely part of the Olin Family and that you were very pleased to see me. Your compassion that you showed when I lost my father, even though you were many miles away, will never be forgotten.
It certainly must have been painful when you lost your parents and all of your siblings but what a welcoming committee you must have at your journeys end. You will always be remembered with very fond memories.
